UBER DRIVER TAKES OFF AFTER METERED TAXI DRIVER TRIED TO ATTACK THE CAR

After parking his car, the Uber driver is apparently approached by a group of men who threaten to beat him if he does not leave. It is clear that the metered taxi operators are at it again!

A video has emerged that shows an attack on an Uber driver during a client pickup. After some seconds, a fight breaks out.

The incident apparently took place at the recently opened Mall of Africa at Waterfall City in Midrand, northern Joburg.

The group of men, who are apparently metered taxi drivers, approach the unknown Uber driver.

And they start throwing punches! The Uber driver tries to avoid them by moving away from them, but he’s followed.

As the fight heats up, the driver flees the scene, leaving his car behind. At the end of the video footage, he’s seen running for his life as one of the men chases him.

The police are seen watching and doing nothing to stop the fight.Eventually, they are seen trying to calm the situation, but with no success!

Gauteng cops spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Lungelo Dlamini told Daily Sun that the authorities were analysing the video.

“We’re also in possession of the video concerned that articulates a clash
between drivers,” he said.“It’s allegedly observed that police were there as the incident happened.

“No one has opened a case as yet with the police, but we’re trying to establish if there was misconduct by the members of the police or the driver.”In June, an Uber driver was set alight and his vehicle petrol-bombed in Sunnyside, Pretoria.

He died on 17 July after spending weeks in ICU.The latest attack is seemingly part of the ongoing feud between metered taxi drivers and Uber drivers.
