Singer Leon Marume: Mai TT was my Sunday school teacher. The rising singer credits Mai TT for mentoring him before parting ways due to school-related circumstances. “I grew up together with Mai TT and she became my Sunday School teacher since we used to attend same church.
Zvishavane based RnB singer Leon “Leonce Leonard” Marume says comedienne Mai TT mentored him during his Sunday School days.
“We formed a group with her and another girl Culture Kandiyero before recording only a track called Nomakanjani. “During that year the group disbanded after I was going to school and I went solo,” he said.
Leonce who has 42 songs to his credit said he is set to drop his EP called Regretting Today which has eight songs. “I am dropping my EP today which has eight songs. “The EP coincides with my birthday in which I am turning 31.
“I have 42 songs which I have worked on including the collabos and the ones which I have worked with other guys. “I launched my solo music career in 2004 and during the same year, I wrote my first track Ndaperera which I recorded in 2019 as a solo track of my group Lumecx.
“I recorded my first solo single, Wandoda in 2013 with Organised, King Cony and Nad Nice before recording my second track in 2015, called Wandibaya,” he added. His music journey started during his primary days in 2003.
“In 2016 I recorded a track with Organised which was called Waenda before doing my fourth track in 2017 with my little brother Christopher Marume. “We then created a group called Lumecx before recording our track called Never let you go.
“We also recorded No more, My everything and my mother. “My first album was released in November 2019 and last I recorded 3 tracks featuring Avilian and Massive,” said Leonce.
