Kwesta is set to fly the SA flag high when he performs at the South by Southwest (SXSW) music and lifestyle festival in Texas later this month.
Kwesta said that he could not wait to perform at the festival. “I first learnt that they wanted me to perform about a month ago. I was naturally excited when it was finalised. I guess they heard my music and how much South Africans love it and decided to book me,” Kwesta said.
The rapper added that he took the responsibility that came with the recognition very seriously. “I am honoured to be recognised for my music enough to be a part of such an amazing and prestigious festival. Everyone knows about the South by Southwest festival and so to perform at it is massive,” he added.
Kwesta said that he would not be changing his performance in any way but would give fans a taste of SA music.
The rapper joins the likes of K.O and Jesse Clegg who have performed at the festival in the past.
Kwesta will be performing at two events as part of the festival on March 17 and March 18.
