A grieving mother is calling on Soweto taxi associations to end the ongoing killing and violence in the industry.
Mamotebang Moroke’s son was caught in the crossfire during an attack on a Meadowlands taxi owner.
Mokgethi Moroke (21) was gunned down while on his way from the shops.
He was shot in the back as he tried to shield his 10-year-old nephew from harm. He and the taxi owner died on the spot.
“I don’t know why they killed my son. He was a kind child. He never caused any problems in the community. No arrests have been made. The Moroke family said more people will die if something isn’t done.
