A young woman, believed to be in her 20s, was airlifted off Table Mountain in Cape Town on Saturday after being unable to complete a hike due to pain she was experiencing, Western Cape paramedics said.
Metro Rescue, Wilderness Search and Rescue, ER24, and Life Healthcare paramedics were on the scene, ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said.
“Metro Rescue sent two rescue technicians to assist the woman. Air Mercy Services’ helicopter, SkyMed, was activated to airlift the woman off the mountain.
“The patient was brought down the mountain and paramedics transported her to hospital for further medical care. Well done to all services on the scene,” Bodasing said.
