Seven people have been booked for allegedly beating up a WhatsApp admin who deterred them from posting indecent pictured and messages in the group.
The Erasmus Police have registered a case number Section 323 (Assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm) and Section 506 (Criminal Intimidation) and 149 (Possession of dangerous weapons) in the case against Ntobeko Lunga and his six unidentified accomplices.
The case was registered following the case of Lindokuhle Msingane of itsoseng Phase 2 in Erasmus, off Pretoria.
He said he runs the WhatsApp group, in which the accused Ntobeko used to post indecent pictures and messages. Lindo said he had deterred Ntobeko from doing so. On the fateful day, Ntobeko, with the help of his accomplices stopped him and assaulted him.
‘I was busy eating my spathlo when Ntobs and his thugs approached me’ a crying Lindo narrated.
‘Next thing I know; I was under attack from them as they told me to let them do what they want in the group. I feel it is my duty to control the group. Being a WhatsApp admin is a serious task that needs special leadership skills’ He added, while dusting his spathlo which had fallen to the ground
