PUBLIC PROTECTOR Thuli Madonsela’s daughter, Wenzile, was at the receiving end of police brutality on Friday.

An angry Wenzile took to social media to express her disappointment at the treatment she got from the men in blue.

In one of her posts, she wrote: Shot by the police. The life of the black child doesn’t matter, assaulted yesterday and shot down today.

Wenzile Madonsela beaten by policeAnother post reads: I as a student of the University of Pretoria was assaulted yesterday and today been victimised and shot by the police with rubber bullets.

This comes after allegations that she was assaulted by a member of AfriForum.

Her posts attracted many sympathisers.

Naledi Chirwa posted a message on Twitter, saying: Afriforum white boy physically attacked Wenzile Madonsela at the UP language policy meeting just now. It degenerated. This is war.

When contacted for comment, Wenzile said she was recovering after the incident. She said she had to go to hospital for medical attention and the police station where she opened a case. She couldn’t elaborate further as she said she was tired.

When contacted by the SunTeam, Wenzile said: “I can’t give an interview now because I’m tired and want to sleep,” and asked the SunTeam to call later, but couldn’t be reached at the time of going to print. Afriforum in Pretoria couldn’t be reached for comment.
