Gupta-gate reached boiling point this week, and Trevor Noah stepped forward with a confession of his own regarding the controversial family.
It seems Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas and former ANC MP Vytjie Mentor were not the only people allegedly approached by the Gupta family for top posts.
Trevor Noah revealed on Thursday that he too got an invite from the Guptas.
“The Guptas invited me to their house and offered me the job at the Daily Show. [sad emoji],” he said on Facebook.
Trevor, being the comedian that he is, was joking of course, but caused a stir with his cheeky post.
“South Africa, It’s time I also come clean… The Guptas wanted to appoint me as their garden boy, but I declined because I can only make things that cannot make the garden not to be done,” Facebook user Nkosi Tshawe commented.
Mawethu Mj Weja James added: “The Guptas invited me to their house and offered me Steve Kompela’s job but I declined it cause I also can’t coach cows.”
Trevor’s post was liked more than 31,000 times, with over 3,000 shares.
Gupta-gate is lit.
