Dwayne Johnson has just made an announcement that we can’t help but get a little excited about.
The actor, and WWE legend, has been telling GQ about his ambitions for a career in politics.
If you’re thinking it sounds a little far fetched just remember the US has a history for this sort of thing.
Ronald Reagan was an actor for 27 years before he became US President in 1981 and more recently Arnie was the Governor of California.
And, let’s be fair, if Donald Trump can get elected as a Republican nominee while pledging to make Mexico pay for a wall between the two countries, anything is possible.
Not that we’re saying The Rock couldn’t be an awesome president. He is the people’s champ after all.
And he is deadly serious about it.
‘I’ll be honest, I haven’t ruled politics out,’ he told GQ. ‘I’m not being coy when I say that, but at the moment I am not sure.
‘I can’t deny that the thought of being governor, the thought of being president, is alluring.
‘And beyond that, it would be an opportunity to make a real impact on people’s lives on a global scale. But there are a lot of other things I want to do first.’
We can just imagine him calling Putin a ‘Jabroni’, before telling Kim Jong-un to ‘know your role and shut your mouth’.
The threat of a Rock Bottom or People’s Elbow could be a solid piece of foreign policy.
And who wouldn’t be curious to smell what global warming policies he is cooking up.
But as the actor pointed out, he is not quite ready to give up the pick-up just yet.
Again, thx for this support. I’m not quite ready to give up my pick up truck yet for a big ol’ motorcade. https://t.co/AqTI5IKd3t
