A total of 137 athletes who represented South Africa at the Olympics games in Rio, Brazil will touch down at the OR Tambo International Airport on Tuesday morning.
The team bettered their six medals haul at the London 2012 Olympics with a total of ten medals at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.
Swimmer Chad le Clos won two silver medals in the 100m butterfly and 200m freestyle, Cameron van der Burgh won silver in the 100m breaststroke and the rugby sevens earned Team SA a bronze medal in their first ever Olympic rugby tournament.
The country’s rowing team also produced a silver medal through Lawrence Brittain and Shaun Keeling and long jumper Luvo Manyonga increased the medal count with a silver.
