Pearl Thusi has popped in the country for some quality time with her daughter and her “person”.
Since being announced as a regular character on the second season of the hit television thriller series Quantico, Thusi has been rubbing shoulders with Hollywood favourites such as co-stars Priyanka Chopra and Blair Underwood, however, she still maintains that there’s no place like home.
Being away form her loved ones has been the hardest part of her new journey.
“I’m here for a little while. I got a break and I wanted to see my person and my daughter. You miss home a little bit, but I’m not gonna lie and say I’m unhappy where I am. I’m very happy.
“Things are going very well finding my place within the industry that side and people are so amazing. I’ve met South Africans, other Africans and have made American friends and acquaintances there.
Thusi, who is engaged to celebrity sportscaster Robert Marawa, wouldn’t be drawn into any talk regarding future plans with her “person”.
“I don’t know anything about wedding bells. I don’t know when they will ring. If they ever ring, they will ring.
“There’s something about that portion of your life that people feel like you owe them something when you don’t talk about it. I don’t want to start something I can’t finish.
“Talking about him makes me blush – wedding bells or not. He makes me melt, he makes me blush, he makes me happy – that’s all I’m going to say,” she gushed.
Adding to her latest achievements, Thusi has joined local stars – Boity Thulo, Cassper Nyovest, Bonang Matheba and Minnie Dlamini – in gaining more than one million followers on Instagram.
“That kind of following is a blessing. I don’t take people’s interest in my career for granted. It means there’s something I’m doing right.
“However, I do feel that it shouldn’t be the be all and end all of what I believe my worth is.”
The second season of Quantico premieres on September 25 2016 in the US.
