SIPHELELE NGCOBO, a former Idols South Africa (SA) contestant from KwaZulu-Natal is pleased to announce the release of his debut single titled “Nandi” on Friday, 06th May 2016. The song will be available for download on different digital distribution platforms such as iTunes, Google play, etc. “Basically ‘Nandi’ signifies me and the type of music I am comfortable with and known for by my fans”; says Siphelele.
While perhaps best known for bedazzling judges on Idols SA (Season 11) mesmerising them with his jazzy rendition of Zahara’s “Loliwe” in his solo audition at Sun City, Siphelele continues to build momentum as a solo performer, gaining respect in the national music community as a musician. Siphelele cut his teeth in the music industry at a very young age in classical singing in school and since matriculating he focused on gospel and jazz in his hometown. His motivation to achieve more has rewarded him with many collaboration invitations with local DJs. This Afro Jazz Soul artist discovered his talent at a very young age and studied classical music in school. His experience in music is extensive as he previously worked as a backing vocalist at the Crown Gospel Music Awards and has featured with reputable artists such as Sifiso Ncwane.
Not winning the competition did not deter Siphelele, if anything; this opportunity has boosted his zeal to achieve more. Barely 2 months after being eliminated from the competition, this 25-year-old started his own company called; “Brilliant Legacy” which is named after him. The company currently serves as a booking agent and Management for Siphelele. Brilliant Legacy will help Siphelele achieve his dream of developing young people with disadvantaged background and offer them a platform to build and grow their talent. Siphelele owes his achievement to date to his parents, friends that believed in him and of course, to the wonderful fans he has accumulated in the music space.
