Accident reconstruction experts from the Road, Traffic and Management Corporation have been sent to the scene of the bus accident that left 11 SANDF members dead.

The driver apparently lost control of the bus, which then rolled down an embankment along the R712 at the Golden Gate National Reserve.

The organisation says 31 others were injured — three of them critically — in the Free State accident.

Bus accidentArmy officials say the bus was carrying 42 passengers at the time of the incident.

They were on their way to a women’s event.

The SANDF says names of the deceased will only be released once their families have been informed.
