SHE gave him a night to remember, then the following day, took off with everything in their rented room.
Now he is left with nothing but a broken heart and empty pockets.
The 37-year-old man from Tsakane in Ekurhuleni told Daily Sun his wife of five years blindsided him.
He said: “The woman I love left me with an empty bank account and an empty house.”
He said last Tuesday they spent the night together in the room they rented in Alberton, Ekurhuleni.
“We rented the room because it is close to where we work,” he said.
Last Wednesday morning his wife accompanied him to work.
He gave her his bank card so she could withdraw money for rent.
“I did not suspect anything when she did not reply to my WhatsApp messages.
“But then my son called to tell me that she had taken everything and left.
“I rushed home and found that she was nowhere to be found.
“She even took the pegs and spoons. Who does that?
“We had about R13 400 saved. She took that money as well and even withdraw my entire salary,” he claimed.
He said he thought his wife had gone back to Zimbabwe, so he went there in search of her. But his search was in vain, as she was not there.
“I had a feeling she wouldn’t go back, as she is now used to the life in Mzansi,” he said.
He believes his wife planned the whole thing.
“The night before she left, she deleted all her pictures from my phone. She also deleted the numbers of our family members.
“I don’t know why she did this to me.
“I was a good husband to her.
“I cooked and did laundry for her.
“If she wanted to leave, she should have just told me,” he said.
Police spokesman Captain Petrus Mabuza said a case of theft has been opened for investigation.
