The izinduna see controversial Pastor Mboro is an angel sent by God. The prophet whose real name is Paseka Motsoeneng has promised to help fix hostels in Ekurhuleni. This comes after their roofs were blown away by heavy winds last year.
Speaking on behalf of izinduna and residents at Basotho Hostel in Vosloorus on Sunday, induna Vusi Zwane heaped praise on Mboro.
“After waiting forever for the municipality to help us we decided to approach the prophet. We signed a petition and invited him to see the terrible conditions people are forced to live in. He responded with amazing speed.
“He’s always willing to help,” said Zwane.
The affected hostels are Basotho, Mazibuko and Buyafuthi. Work has already started at Basotho Hostel and grateful residents invited Mboro to visit them on Sunday so they could personally thank him.
“Another reason we invited him is that people wanted to see this amazing prophet in person. Everybody is happy with what he has done.
“They said they always saw him in the newspapers and on TV. He was touched by the gratitude he was shown by the residents. He also prayed for those who are sick,” Zwane said.
He said on Friday, Mboro helped them to get a bus to Nongoma in KZN to bury an induna.
Mboro said: “I was touched and decided to help. These people have been neglected by the government for a long time. We only see development in the townships but not in the hostels.
“I’m glad to make a difference in the people’s lives.”
