SIBUSISO’S family demanded that he give back the R2 000 and the Blackberry cellphone he had stolen – but he didn’t have the money or the phone.
So 22-year-old Sibusiso Dlamini from Daveyton, Ekurhuleni went to Sinaba Stadium and hanged himself with his trousers!
Sibusiso was already dead when cleaners found him in the stadium’s changing-room on Monday.
Prince Mhlophe of Vukasizwe Community Project said it was the first day of their new campaign to clean the stadium.
“The last thing we expected was to find a dead man,” he said.
“We immediately informed the Daveyton cop shop.”
Sibusiso’s body was taken to Springs government mortuary.
His sister, Gugu Dlamini, said the family was still coming to terms with their loss.
“We didn’t think he would do something like this.
“We are so shocked,” she said.
Gugu said the family had just buried another relative last week.
“We wonder where we will get money to bury him,” said Gugu.
His girlfriend, Nthabiseng Ntombela, couldn’t contain herself and cried uncontrollably.
Some residents told Daily Sun they want the stadium to have a caretaker.
A resident said: “People come here to do all sorts of illegal things.
“Nyaope addicts sometimes come here to smoke their drugs.
“The stadium is a community asset. Someone must guard it to prevent things like this from happening again.”
