Rapper Reason had a very sombre start to his weekend celebrations after a young man, who goes by the name of Lawrence Ledimo, passed away at the venue where Reason held his birthday party.
According to The Sowetan, the young man, in the name of fun, decided to slide down a railing. Tragically, Lawrence lost his balance and plummeted down seven flights of stairs.
Pearl Thusi, who was hosting the party, revealed on Mo Flava’s show that after Reason had heard of the tragic passing of the young man, he immediately shut down the party.
“We thought Reason was joking and wanted some applause or something, but he came to me and told me what had happened. He really looked shocked about had happened. Big ups to him for cancelling the party immediately,” Pearl said.
After the party was immediately shut down, police arrived and cleared out the venue. According to the publication, Reason and his team went to the family to pay their respects and offer their support with regards to the funeral arrangements.
Kool Out Concepts, the organisation responsible for hosting the party, also issued a statement.
“It is with deep personal regret that we inform you of the death of one of our Koolin In The City Patron. Each of us at Kool Out Concepts not only grieves at the passing of an individual that is said to have been a huge fan of our movement but also for the loss his family suffers.
