Kaizer Motaung Jnr user to strike for his dad’s team. But rumor has it he’s struck his wife and got arrested on assault charges.
The son of legendary Kaizer Chiefs chairman, Kaizer Motaung, was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly moering his wife, Katherine Heider. He was charged with common assault. According to court papers, Kaizer Jnr lost his cool during a heated argument with Katherine. The couple met during Kaizer’s playing days at TSV 1860 Munich between 2000 and 2003. The two dated for 9 years and got married in 2012.
According to court papers, Kaizer Jnr pushed Katherine and she hit an object before she fell. Katherine allegedly told cops she sustained an abrasion to her knee and a twisted ankle. Kaizer Jnr appeared at the Randburg Magistrates Court on charges of common assault on Thursday. “Only a few people who knew him could recognise him as he kept a very low profile,” said a police officer who was in court.
Court officials said the star requested that his case be heard before others as he was rushing to catch a plane. The police officer said : “The prosecution agreed and the court was called earlier”. This angered the judge who gave the prosecutor a tongue lashing.
Another court official said : “The magistrate said no one deserves special treatment in court. He added he did not care who Motaung was or where he was rushing to – and he’d have to wait till his case was called.” Motaung wasn’t asked to plead. His case was postponed to June.
When contacted for comment , Kaizer Jnr refused to talk about the incident and said that it was a private family matter.
Sandton police confirmed they arrested Kaizer Jnr.
