Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema on Tuesday visited the home of the late Kwaito legend Mandoza, to pay his respects and offer his support to the late music icon’s family.
Dressed in a smart dark blue suit complimented by a light blue shirt, Julius arrived at the house just before 3pm on Tuesday afternoon.
The politician was swarmed by media and members of the community, as he posed for pictures outside the house.
Malema’s party had on Sunday taken to social media to pay tribute to the music legend.
The visit comes only hours after government officials, including Minister Nathi Mthethwa and Minister Faith Muthambi visited the star’s Soweto home.
“Minister Nathi Mthethwa visited the the family yesterday and spent almost the entire day and minister Faith Muthambi and other ministers arrived today to pay their condolences,” the family’s spokesperson Mzwakhe Tshabalala told TMG Entertainment on Tuesday.
He said that the visitors “have helped with the catering and many other things” as the family prepares for the memorial and funeral services for the star, to be held later this week.
The Nkalakatha hitmaker passed away on Sunday afternoon while being transported to hospital. He had been fighting cancer. The star’s family confirmed two weeks ago that doctors had detected a tumour in his brain that had left him blind.
