SKHUMBUZO Mbuli (37) cheated death once when his best friend, who had accused him of bonking his girlfriend, pumped seven bullets into his left leg.
He healed and went on with his life.
But now Skhumbuzo is missing and his family fears the worst!
According to his family, Skhumbuzo was arrested at his house in Mofolo South in Soweto four weeks ago.
Skhumbuzo’s sister, Khabo Mbuli (39), was at home when he was arrested.
“I went to call him as he was with his friends next door,” said Khabo.
“The cops took him to their car and tied him up with a blue rope. One of them told me that Skhumbuzo was arrested for a drug-related crime committed in 2011.”
Khabo said the men left their cellphone numbers.
After she had not heard from her brother for a week, the family phoned the cops who told them that Skhumbuzo was being detained at the Sandton cop shop.
But when they went there in search of him, he was nowhere to be found.
Skhumbuzo’s mum Angelina Mbuli (55) said she’s been praying for her son’s return every day.
“Dead or alive, I want to know where my son is,” said Angelina.
She claimed that the case her son was implicated in was dropped and he was freed.
Daily Sun spoke to the arresting officer, who asked that his name not be mentioned.
He said Skhumbuzo was arrested and detained at Sandton police station.
The officer said records showed that Skhumbuzo appeared in the Randburg Magistrates Court on 1 July.
“I don’t know whether he was sentenced or not,” he said.
The family have in the meantime opened a missing person’s case at Moroka Police Station.
Moroka police spokesman Captain Mpande Khoza said cops were investigating.
