BODY of Big Nuz Member Sibusiso “R Mashesha” Khomo SWITCHED. NOT only did the family have to deal with the fact of Sibusiso “R Mashesha” Khomo’s death on Friday.
They also had to deal with the theft of precious things belonging to the former Big Nuz member – and being shown the wrong body at the mortuary!
Daily Sun reported on Monday that the grieving family was outraged when they discovered that thieves had searched R Mashesha’s outside room in the family yard in Umlazi, outside Durban.
The thugs stole the popular kwaito singer’s clothes, watches, Apple laptop and PlayStation.
His sister, Zonke Khomo-Mbhele, told the People’s Paper more about the nightmare the family went through.
“We got to the government mortuary in Gale Street to identify my brother’s body but it wasn’t there!
“The hospital had labelled the wrong body and released it to the mortuary.
“We spent hours searching for the right body.
“We then called the hospital to find out what happened.
“To our surprise St Augustine’s Hospital confirmed that it had sent the wrong body to the mortuary. My brother’s body was still at the hospital,” she said.
The hospital’s general manager, Dr Augusta Dorning, told the People’s Paper management had been in contact with the bereaved family and offered their assistance and condolences.
Today a memorial service in memory of R Mashesha will be held at the eThekwini Community Church in Durban, starting at 3pm.
The funeral service will start on Saturday at King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi at 9am.
