DJ Black Coffee has apologised for slapping AKA’s road manager Tshiamo Letshwene.

The two were involved in an altercation in the early hours of Sunday at the DStv iRock Music Festival in Polokwane.

The clash was recorded on a video that went viral. In it, Black Coffee is seen arguing with two men and later landing a stinging klap on Letshwene, sending his cap flying to the ground.

But yesterday, the two camps smoked a peace pipe.

Raphael Benza, of Vth Season Talent and Entertainment Marketing Agency, said Black Coffee’s management had expressed his regrets and apologised about the incident telephonically.

“Nathi (Black Coffee’s real name) will talk to Tshiamo directly to apologise. We won’t be pressing charges as Nathi seems sincere with his apology. There was some line up changes that wasn’t communicated to Black Coffee’s team. I do believe that was his frustration,” Benza said.

“We are all moving forward to make South African music scene the biggest in the world. AKA and Black Coffee are two of the most popular African artists right now. Nothing is going to stop them.”

Attempts to get a comment from Black Coffee drew a blank, and his manager Amaru da Costa from Soulistic Music had promised to issue a statement giving their side of the story earlier yesterday. He had failed to do so by the time of going to print.
