19 Clare Estate taxi passengers narrowly escaped death when their taxi collided with another car and then crashed into a huge tree.
The overloaded taxi belonging to the Clare Estate Taxi Association was travelling from the area to the Durban CBD when the incident happened.
Rescue Care paramedics spokesman Garrith Jamieson said: “The incident happened on the N3 off-ramp to Brickfield Road on Monday afternoon.”
“We can confirm that a case of reckless and negligent driving was opened at Sydenham Police Station for investigation. All the injured passengers were taken to hospital for medical attention. No one has been arrested,” said Zwane.
